chad November 15, 2017

Blogging is all about content writing. It’s about getting the best content in front of the right people because this helps you build your brand and credibility. However, I’m still surprised at the amount of people how don’t know the importance of content and refuse to spend time researching so they can create something amazing. Many time’s people just get lazy because they feel they need to be writing content all the time. I’m here to tell you this is untrue and writing content 1-2 times per week consistently will be just right to get you where you need to go. However, many bloggers still have problems sticking to this schedule so I’ve decided to put this content together.

Today, I’ll be talking about content writing and how to schedule your posts so you stay ahead of your publishing. If your using WordPress then you will be able to schedule posts with no problem at all. Let’s get started and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Everything starts with research and you need to make sure you have all the information you need before writing your content. For example, by doing research the right way, you’ll be able to collect the keywords and popular questions people have within your niche. But, if you don’t do research, then you’ll have a problem writing content which gains traction quickly. The good news is you have three awesome ways right now to do research quickly and within a few minutes. Let’s look at the three right now –

Google Trends – this tool will show you what new keywords and questions people are typing into Google. By knowing the kind of searches people are doing, you’ll be able to create content suitable for their needs.

Google Keyword Tool – a great free tool which will give you monthly searches and even new keywords. You just need a Gmail account and will be able to get started by doing targeted searches. Focus on new keywords just entering the market because they will be easy to rank for.

Competition – this is another great way to find out what type of content should be written. By looking over your competition, you’ll be able to see where you should be focusing. Your competition has been around longer so know, what type of topics they should be focusing going forward.

Writing Your Content

When writing content, you need to pay attention to the finer things like what your audience expects to read. If you are writing content and not focusing on answering the main question, then you’re whole purpose just went down the drain. But, by making sure you provide value and answer all the questions your readers have, you’ll be able to push ahead and gain enormous engagement. So, how do you write the perfect piece of content –

First, you want to make sure you have all the correct keywords sorted out. By adding the right keywords, you’ll have an easier time ranking within the SERP’s. Google over the last several months has paid enormous attention to keyword optimizing. Secondly, once you have the keywords, you want to make sure you write on each of them answering them as an answer. The cool thing is the more emphasis you put on keywords and writing about them, the higher the chance you’ll be able to rank for them. Third, make sure your content is in-depth because data shows that content between 2000-2500 tends to rank higher then others. Fourth, you want to make sure you share your content so it will generate a lot more engagement that way.

Once you are done writing your content, you want to do the following to help you stay ahead of everyone else.

Hire Freelance Outreach

One of the best ways to make sure you have a lot of content is by hiring someone to write for you. For example, if you can only write one piece of content per week, then why not hire someone else to write the other one for you. This means you’ll have another piece of content just waiting to be published. All you need to do is send the freelancer the keywords and the length you want it to be. I like sending the person I hire some additional information like sub-headings, and other related keywords they can add. There are a few sites you can focus on when looking for the right freelancer or outreach blogger. Here are two of them which are very popular and you can find a ton of people –

Freelancer – an amazing website with so many writers perfect for everyone with different budgets. It’s free to setup and post a job. Once you have, you’ll have so many replies so you won’t have a problem choosing someone to work on your content.

Upwork – this site use to be and is another amazing website. The traffic is a bit slow compared to others, but you’ll be able to find someone to help you out going forward.

Edit the Content

It’s important before you upload the content, you go through making sure it meets all the requirements. The last thing you want is content which hasn’t been edited and is very hard to read. For this reason, take some time to read through content and making adjustments where necessary. If you need help with editing then I would recommend you hire someone who can do the job for you. By doing a quick search online, you’ll be able to find some people who are editors and working simply through editing.

Take some time and do a search online to locate them because it’s very important these people find it easy to read your content because you get started. Once everything looks good, you can move to the next step which is to start uploading your content and scheduling. We’ll be talking on how to use WordPress for this step and a few things to pay close attention to.

Upload Content

The next step is to upload content and you can do this easily though WordPress. It will take you no more then a few minutes to do this, but you want to make sure everything is setup correct and optimized. For example, you want to make sure when uploading and before scheduling, you will be able to insert the right keywords and links. Here are a few things you should be paying close attention to after uploading.

First, you want to make sure your main keyword is in the right place. By now you should have a main keyword and 2 related keywords which you can add to your URL, title and body. The reason this is so important is because search engines like Google will use this information to help you rank in the search engines. Secondly, you also want to add images where applicable. Having images in your content will help engage your readers even more. Some people understand images better then text so it’s important to have the right images with your text. Not to mention, images stand out more on social media so when people share this increases engagement right away. Third, make sure your content is in the right category because people will use your navigation menu. By having your content in the right place, you’ll make it easy for others to find your content which in the end will increase your overall engagement. Many people don’t like using the search bar of your website but will like to navigate through the categories finding different content to read. Fourth, don’t forget to add a featured image so it looks good on your blog. Many people get attracted to the image and this forces them to click-through and read your content.

Finally, when everything is setup correctly, you need to schedule all the posts correctly. Consistency is the key because this means your keeping your blog updated, Google looks for this in something they now call the freshness update. You can schedule posts by selecting a date and then clicking schedule. I would upload all the content you have so you can schedule each of them two or three days in advance,

Final Thoughts

It’s important to stay ahead of your blogging and content writing because this will keep you competitive. If your content is not fresh then you will lose a lot of engagement on your blog. This will lower your traffic and your bottom line. Follow through our simple steps to get started and to make sure you have content available for your blog when you need it. As mentioned, consistency is key and once you get your content publishing on certain dates, it’s important you don’t move away from this calendar.

If you need more help on finding out on how to schedule your content, then do a quick search in Google where you’ll find tons of videos and content on what to do.
